How a shared jigsaw board works
Every player sees the same puzzle and the same loose pieces, laid out for their own screen — a phone and a laptop in one room show the same board at different sizes. When you pick up a piece it is yours until you drop it: everyone else sees it move in your colour and cannot grab it at the same time. Drop it in the right place and it snaps for everyone, with the same sound and pulse. The timer runs on the server, so all screens agree on the time, and if your connection drops for a moment you reconnect to the same seat with nothing lost. There is no chat and no names — just Player 1 to 4 and colours — which keeps rooms simple and safe to share.
How to choose the right piece count
Pick more pieces than you would alone. Two people are comfortable at 64; three or four stay busy at 100 or 144, and a group around a big screen can enjoy 225. On phones keep an eye on piece size: 36 to 64 is the sweet spot for thumbs, and the board zooms if a corner gets crowded. Choose pictures with clearly different areas — sky, water, a building, a bowl of fruit — so each player can naturally take a region. And nothing is lost by guessing wrong: once everyone agrees, the room restarts at a different size with the same picture and the same players.

Do my friends need an account or an app?
No. The invite link (or QR code) opens the puzzle in any modern browser. Nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.

What happens if someone leaves?
The game carries on. Their seat stays available and they can rejoin from the same link. A room with progress is kept for a day after everyone leaves; an untouched one closes after an hour.
Can I use my own photo for a multiplayer puzzle?
Not yet. Shared rooms use PuzzleFree’s own catalogue — that way no personal photos are ever uploaded to or stored on our side.
Is there a time limit or a score?
No pressure: the timer only counts up so you can see your shared time. When the last piece snaps, everyone gets the same win card.
